President TRUMP announced a 25% tariff on Indian goods entering the U.S., effective August 1, citing high tariffs imposed by India and its military purchases from Russia. "India has been a good friend, but India has charged basically more tariffs than almost any other country," Trump stated on Truth Social. The deadline remains firm, with no extensions.

Meanwhile, U.S.-China trade talks in Sweden concluded without a tariff delay announcement. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent noted Trump will decide on extending the trade truce between the two economic giants.
